Four JHS students make All-State Choir

(From Joplin Schools)

On Oct. 26, the Southwest Missouri District Honor Choir performance and All-State Honor Choir auditions were held at Missouri Southern State University. The All-State auditions were open to juniors and seniors only. Four students from Joplin High School made it through the difficult rounds of All-State auditions: Adelle Kanan, Logan Reynolds, Alex Chesney, and Emma Claybrook.

"The juniors and seniors had to prepare an entirely new song for their All-State audition," said JHS choral director Breana Clark. "This work was primarily done independently or in private lessons. Their sight singing and vocal solo scores from All-District auditions factor into their overall score as well."

The All-State performance will take place at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach the last weekend of January with a final performance on Jan. 25 with singers from all over the state.
