KSN names Jessica Schaer 6-10 p.m. anchor

Phillip Mitchell's time as a solo on the KSNF evening news has ended.

Mitchell introduced viewers to his new co-anchor, Jessica Schaer, a few moments ago at the beginning of the 6 p.m. newscast.

Ms. Schaer is no stranger to area viewers. She is moving across the studio from sister station KODE, where she has been working as a reporter and weekend meteorologist.

This description of Ms. Schaer is provided on the Four States Home Page website:

As a born and raised Floridian, Jessica is no stranger to weather phenomena. Some of her favorite childhood memories involve sitting on the back porch with her dad watching the outer bands of hurricane and tropical storm clouds roll in off the Gulf of Mexico.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Southern California in sunny Los Angeles and breaking into the marketing field, Jessica decided her passion for weather was so overwhelming that it was time to change careers. She enrolled in a second Bachelor's degree program at the Florida State University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. She was a member of the North Florida Chapter of the AMS/NWA, volunteered at the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, and is now thrilled to begin her meteorology career in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks.
When not planted in front of a radar following storms, she enjoys teaching dance to budding ballerinas, finding new adventures, or traveling to visit friends and family who are situated all over the United States.
