JFD responds to TAMKO fire

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported Industrial Fire at 601 N High, Tamko, at 9:05 PM, Tuesday, 11 February, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 9:09 PM to find smoke and flames coming from a pipe joint and from a filter unit in a separate building. Tamko personnel shut off the dampers to the piping which caused the fire to extinguish and the smoke to dissipate. Crews remained on scene until 10:26 PM. 
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 5 Joplin Fire units and 17 Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD and METS.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at the time of this writing.
