The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 2502 N Florida Ave, at 11:52 PM, Friday, 14 February, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 00:01 AM Saturday, 15 February, to find a garage building with heavy fire coming from the front door. Soon after arrival the roof of the building collapsed. The fire was declared out at 00:49 AM Saturday, 15 February. Crews remained on scene until 2:08 AM Saturday.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. Two Joplin Fire units and seven Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD and METS. The rest of the fire crews were fighting a nearly simultaneous fire at 2516 N Turk.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at the time of this writing.
