Lamar man injured in crash north of Milford

A Lamar man was injured in a one-vehicle accident 7 p.m. Saturday on Route CC three miles north of Milford.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2018 Ram 1500 driven by Daniel S. Newell, 39, Lamar, ran off the right side of the road and became airborne.

Newell was treated for moderate injuries Cox Barton County Hospital.

Lamar teen killed in rollover crash, 16-year-old girl flown to Mercy Springfield with critical injuries

A Lamar teen was killed and two people injured in a one-vehicle crash 1:45 a.m. today on Route V, 10 miles northwest of Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Benjamin L. Harrington, 18, Lamar, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a bluff and overturned.

Harrington was pronounced dead at the scene by Barton County Coroner Sarah Rutledge at 1:52 a.m.

A passenger, a 16-year-old Lamar girl was flown to Mercy Springfield to be treated for serious injuries.

Another passenger, a 16-year-old boy was treated for minor injuries.

The fatality was the 101st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.

Neosho man receives serious injuries in crash east of Seneca

A Neosho man was injured in a one-vehicle accident 3:19 p.m. Friday on Route Y six miles east of Seneca.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2017 Kia Optima driven by Chad L. Schick, 40, Neosho, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the roadway and down an embankment.

Schick was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
