Last week, K9 Scout retired from the Joplin Police Department. K9 Scout's career with us was cut short due to advanced hip dysplasia that began to affect his working ability. K9 Scout was six years old and served with our department for 4.5 years. Some of the highlights of K9 scout include: Conducted 25 successful tracks, located 17 grams of cocaine, 6 grams of crack, 1175 grams of marijuana, and 159 grams of meth. K9 Scout will be missed by all of us.
This week we welcome our newest K9. K9 Bolt began his training with Officer Brett Davis this week. K9 Bolt is a 2.5 year old German Shepherd and we look forward to many years of service with him. The picture is with K9 Bolt.
