On 01/06/2020, Jasper officers made an arrest on Nicholas Perkins for burglary 2nd degree and felony receiving stolen property.
On December 18th, 2019, a Jasper citizen reported the front door of his residence had been “kicked” in and several items were stolen from the residence.
Through investigation, officers learned of suspects and after several follow ups on leads over the past two weeks in the case, most of the victim’s property was recovered.
Two juveniles are also suspects in the case and looking at facing felony crimes.
It was reported that Perkins, who claims to have been in a “bloods” gang in North Carolina, was going to “fight the cops” and “run” if an arrest was attempted. When told he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back, Perkins did respectfully and was arrested without confrontation. Luckily, no officers were hurt nor had to run in the arrest of Perkins.
Perkins as well as the juvenile suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
