Joplin man injured in motorcycle accident on 86

A Joplin man was injured in a one-vehicle accident 5:09 p.m. Sunday on MO 86, two miles south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Yamaha Star 1100 driven by Christopher A. Hammett, 59, Joplin, failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting Hammett.

Hammett was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
