South Middle School teacher one of 98 nationwide selected for National History Day program

Joplin Schools is pleased to announce that Mrs. Heather Van Otterloo, South Middle School, has been selected as one of only 98 teachers for a National History Day (NHD) summer professional development program. 

The new course highlights and explores digital resources available at the Library of Congress to develop and support historical argumentation. 

This course is a feature of NHD’s membership in the Library of Congress’s Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Consortium.

As one of the selected teachers, Heather receives free tuition, graduate credits, and materials for the online program
