(From the City of Joplin)In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center, MAPS transportation services, and the Joplin History and Mineral Museum.
City Hall and other City services, except for the Recycling Center and Museum, will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 1. Following the holiday closure, the Recycling Center will return to its regular operating hours, opening on Saturday, November 29, and closing on Sunday and Monday. The Center is open 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The Joplin Museum will reopen to the public on Tuesday, December 2, resuming its regular hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments), Joplin Regional Airport and Wastewater Division will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year.
Joplin citizens are reminded that residential trash and curbside recycling will NOT be picked up on Thursday, November 27, Thanksgiving Day. Customers who usually have trash or curbside recycling service on Thursdays will have their service on Friday, November 28. Customers on Friday will have their trash or recycling picked up on Saturday, November 29.
