Joplin man suffers serious injuries in crash on Lone Elm Road
Sidenstricker was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol arrest website, Sidenstricker was cited for felony leaving the scene of a crash, driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway.
Two Anderson children injured in collision
Two Anderson residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident 4:27 p.m. today on private property on Stoneville Lane a half-mile east of Anderson.
The 10-year-old was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
The 11-year-old was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.

Chuck Niess retires from Joplin Police Department for second time
We want to congratulate Chuck Niess who will retire today for the 2nd time from the Joplin Police Department. Chuck originally retired from JPD in 2016 as a Corporal after serving over 20 years for JPD, but he didn’t stay retired for long.

Pittsburg women arrested on burglary charges
(From the Pittsburg Police Department)On Thursday morning, December 29, 2022, at approximately 4:14 a.m., officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of South Walnut Street for a burglary in progress. T
At approximately 4:24 a.m. on December 29, 2022, an officer spotted a 2000 Buick Regal occupied by two females near the area.
Carrie Devore and Kandice Devore were placed under arrest, without incident, and transported to the Crawford County Jail. They were both booked in on one count of burglary of a non-dwelling and misdemeanor theft. Both are being held without bond at this time. The tires stolen from the victim were located on a nearby property and returned to the owner.

Please visit the Federal Communications Commission map portal (Click here ) to see how your home or business is currently shown with regard to internet connectivity and speed. If you see something incorrect, bring it to the attention of government officials by following the challenge process laid out here. This will help identify and capture gaps in service and coverage.
The City of Joplin is well-positioned to improve community-wide broadband access and the City of Joplin needs your help! The federal government has made a once-in-a-generation investment to improve equitable access to broadband services across the country.
The residents and businesses of Joplin have the opportunity to help improve the maps which are used to determine the federal funds the City would be eligible to receive to support connecting Joplin and progressing the City with its Smarter Joplin goals. Deadline for citizens to submit their information is January 13, 2023.

Topics covered will include: crime scene investigations, narcotics investigations, child abuse investigations, vehicle stops, SWAT operations and equipment, use of force tactics, building clearing, DWI enforcement, an introduction to the K9 unit and much more. Route 59 Streambank Stabilization/Sidewalk Project in Noel Beginning Week of Jan. 3
Drivers should expect lane reductions and traffic delays on Missouri Route 59 in McDonald County when a project to stabilize the streambank and make sidewalk improvements along the Elk River begins the week of January 3, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Traffic Impacts
Expect lane reductions on Route 59 with traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals
One lane of Route 59 OPEN at all times
All lanes of Route 59 OPEN if construction pauses for longer than two (2) weeks
No signed detours
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
