Crowder College is working with local author Kent Allen to raise funds for the Behavior Support Center.
Allen is donating 100% of the proceeds of book sales from now through June 30 to the Center.
Saturday, January 30, at 10am the group has sponsored a “Sensory Friendly” viewing of Kung Fu Panda III at the Neosho B&B Theatre.
Sensory Friendly movies have the lights a little brighter and the volume a little lower than normal, which is conducive to autistic children.
Children and their families have been provided free tickets to the show. After a very large response the movie has been moved to a larger theatre.
A crowd of 200 is expected to attend. These students and their family are from area schools. It will provide an opportunity for the children to enjoy a movie more suited for their needs.
Cindy Branscum, Director of Institutional Advancement, Jamie Emery, Director of the BSC, and Allen (Dr. Kent Farnsworth) will be available during the viewing.
