JFD responds to structure fire at 29th and McClelland

At approximately 8:54am, Engine 4C, Engine 2C, Ladder 5C, Rescue 4C, Battalion 1C, and Ladder 1C on second alarm was notified of a commercial structure fire near 29th and McClelland. 

The fire was reported in by a Joplin Police Department officer on patrol. 

On arrival fire personnel found a commercial structure with smoke showing from the eaves of the structure. 

Crews located the fire in the basement of the building and extinguished it without incident. There were no injuries and the building was not in operation and was vacant. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. 

Joplin Fire was assisted by Metro Emergency Transport System and the Joplin Police Dept.
