(From KGCS)He’s called The Comeback Kid. James Berger is the 2025 Mr. Olympia in the wheelchair division. Berger, a wheelchair bodybuilding pro shares his workout regimen and road to glory on the next Newsmakers program.
Berger, who won the 2025 Texas Pro Wheelchair Competition and 2024 Dallas Pro Wheelchair titles to qualify for the Mr. Olympia competition is also an International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness pro league member. He talks about training with a workout partner and what it takes to impress judges in competition. Berger shares his passion and drive for the sport that followed a DUI crash that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.
Multiple surgeries created challenges to overcome, and Berger explains how perseverance and faith have kept him going.
Newsmakers is airing nightly at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. beginning December 14 on KGCS-TV and will air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20 on KOAM-TV. It is also posted on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS – Missouri Southern State University.
