Lion Pride Visit Day among events scheduled at MSSU next week

The next Lion Pride Visit Day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Missouri Southern State University.

The event is designed as a chance for prospective students to “experience Missouri Southern and leave a Lion.”

Those attending will have the opportunity to learn about the admissions process, financial aid, take a tour of campus, meet with members of the faculty and find out more about student services and programs. They will also have the opportunity to apply and be considered for acceptance – all in one day.








Other events planned for next week include the next selection in the Japanese Film Festival and a production of a Stephen Sondheim musical.

Tuesday, Sept. 28


“Spirited Away”: 7 p.m., Plaster Hall’s Cornell Auditorium. Hayao Miyazaki’s 2001 fantasy adventure won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. A young girl’s family undergo a mysterious transformation, and she is whisked into a world of fantastic spirits.

Wednesday, Sept. 29

Make-and-Take Mini Zen Garden: 10:30 a.m., Billingsly Student Center. Students will be able to create miniature stylized landscapes with carefully composed arrangements.

Thursday, Sept. 30

“Company”: 7:30 p.m., Bud Walton Black Box Theatre. The Musical Theatre Department will present the classic Stephen Sondheim musical comedy. Friday, Oct. 1


FAFSA Fiesta: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Billingsly Student Center. Returning and incoming students are invited to renew their 2022-23 FAFSA and apply for MSSU Foundation scholarships.

Sunday, Oct. 3

“Company”: 2:30 p.m., Bud Walton Black Box Theatre.
