Newton County Sheriff, state fire marshal investigate suspicious fire in Wentworth

On April 11, 2025 at approximately 7:49 AM, the Newton County Central Dispatch Center received a call of a structure fire at 302 Spruce, Wentworth, Missouri. Fire units from Pierce City Fire Department, Freistatt Fire Department, Jasper County Fire Department, Monett Rural Fire District and Monett City Fire Department responded to the scene.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded and is currently conducting a suspicious fire investigation along with the Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office.
