On Monday, August 17th, 2020 at 1107 hours, a Jasper officer stopped a black 2005 Buick passenger vehicle. Near Thorn Rd. and I-49.
Contact was made with the driver, Amanda J. Smith (Liberal) and Christian Reynolds (Liberal). While speaking to Smith, she appeared extremely overly nervous for a routine traffic stop.
She talked fast, her movements were rapid and quick, she was very excited and she could not sit still. Smith advised she had just got placed on probation for drugs. Jasper PD recently arrested Reynolds for possession of meth related drug paraphernalia.
After questioning, Smith admitted said there was possibly torches and drug pipes in the center console. Smith admitted to having meth hidden in her bra. She pulled out a clear plastic baggy with about 1/2 gram of a white crystal substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Reynolds admitted there were a couple pipes used to smoke meth, in the center console. Reynolds admitted the pipes were his.
The following was found in the vehicle after a search:
•Blue plastic container with (2) glass pipes with white powder residue and (2) torches.
Smith was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. Reynolds was taken into custody for possession of meth related drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Jasper County jail.
Both Smith and Reynolds are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
