(From Joplin Little Theatre)Joplin Little Theatre has announced its next production, Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry, to be presented Wednesday, Feb. 2 through Saturday, Feb. 5 and Sunday, Feb. 6.
This production is directed by Greg Green, with the cast consisting of Lisa Olliges as Daisy Werthan; Kennan Cortez, Sr., as Hoke Colburn and Shaun Conroy as Boolie Werthan.
Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize, Driving Miss Daisy chronicles 25 years in the life of Daisy Werthan, a rich Jewish widow and her proud, soft-spoken Black butler, Hoke Coburn, in post-war Atlanta.
Driving Miss Daisy is a warmhearted, humorous and affecting study of an unlikely relationship between two seemingly opposite personalities.
The play will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 2-5 and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6. The play will run approximately 90 minutes without an intermission.
Following the Thursday evening performance there will be a Talk-Back with the audience immediately following the production. Audience members are invited to meet the cast and ask questions about production. The Talk-Back is free to all Thursday night ticket holders.
There will also be a tea before the Sunday matinee, starting at 1:30 p.m., in the President’s Room that is free to all Sunday matinee ticket holders.
Ticket prices are $18 for adult, $15 for senior citizen/ student and $8 for children 12 and under. Individual tickets are on sale by calling the JLT Box Offie at 417- 623-3638 or online at www. joplinlittletheatre.org.
