Sarcoxie Police arrest Seneca man, confiscate 4.4 grams of methamphetamine

1. We responded to three crashes this last week. In one crash the driver was lucky they were not injured due to pulling out in front of a vehicle much larger than their own and being t-boned. The other crashes were minor in nature. We ask you to be careful, and please pay attention to your surroundings.

 
2. We have also responded to three either careless and imprudent and/or traffic stops where the vehicles did not have any marker lights or headlights on. We can catch you quicker in town than being asked to respond to I-44 to locate you driving from Carthage without your lights on. You were almost invisible in the dark. Thankfully no one was injured and vehicles were located and drivers educated.

 
3. We would like to ask for those who partake in the use of illegal narcotic use to please, for the safety and health of everyone who doesn't do what you do - do not leave your half-blood-filled syringes in the bathrooms of our convenient stores. It is very inconsiderate and not something we personally want to handle on a regular basis. Thanks.

 
4. Everyone has the responsibility of registering their vehicles, so it should be no surprise when we stop you. It was this driver's unlucky day so it seemed. Austin Getz, of Seneca MO, was placed under arrest for felony warrants from Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Due to the vehicle having no insurance, and no registration the vehicle was towed, an inventory search (no warrant needed) was conducted.

Prior to the search Getz did admit that methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia would be located in the vehicle. 4.4 grams of methamphetamine, torches, glass pipes, a scale, and a cut straw were located in the console. Getz was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and Fugitive from Justice PC statements were sent to the Jasper County PA for the Arkansas and Oklahoma warrants.

 
5. Is it really that hard to keep your hands to yourself? We got a call from a young caller that she is worried about her mother and being hit by her boyfriend. We made contact with the mother, it could be seen that she had been crying, and stated that she didn't know what she had done to be treated that way. She showed us where she was struck on the head. We have charges pending once the boyfriend is found and taken into custody. We will never understand what would make someone hit their significant other but will always be there when they do.
