Joplin Fire Department responds to 160 service calls, including 5 structure fires this week

Over the past 5 days your Joplin firefighters have responded to 160 calls for service that included 5 structure fires, several multi-car crashes, and a multitude of other weather related issues. 

The sub-zero temps and snow made for brutal conditions to work in and caused equipment to freeze up. It’s important that we say just how proud we are of our staff for the work they did to continue to meet the mission.

 
Just as important is for us to recognize our city partners: JPD, Public Works, our 911 dispatchers, METS and Newton County Ambulance because without their assistance and teamwork the job would have been impossible. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by a group of people that work hard to keep Joplin safe.
