“If you have warrants, hiding across county lines will not keep you from going to jail” Sheriff Boyd cautioned, “If you have Barry County warrants, a Barry County deputy sheriff will bring you back to Cassville to have your day in court.”

Sheriffs Boyd and Evenson noted that in addition to cross-commissioning select personnel, deputies from both agencies routinely train together, detectives share crime bulletins, and even the jail divisions of both agencies have agreements with each other.

“When we had a major incident earlier this year, McDonald County detectives were offered to come over and assist us in our time of need. When McDonald County needed help, it wasn’t even a question of should we help, only How much help you need?” Sheriff Boyd said.
