Highway Patrol DWI Arrests October 31-November 1

The Missouri  Highway Patrol arrested the following people for driving while intoxicated:

Ray D. Cowan, 34, Mindenmines
Tyler Liggett, 19, Carthage
Brent R. Wormington, 24, Cassville
Michael E. Isbell, 28, Rogersville

Joplin woman injured in rollover accident on HH

A Joplin woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident 5:53 p.m. Saturday on Highway HH west of County Road 170.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2006 Ford Focus driven by Brandon C. Falls, 27, Carterville, traveled off the right side of the road and overturned several times.

A passenger, Julia L. Horn, 25, Joplin, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.

Mindenmines man cited for DWI following accident near Anderson

A Mindenmines man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 1:10 a.m. today on I-49, one-tenth of a mile south of Anderson.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Pontiac Montana driven by Ray D. Cowan, 34, Mindenmines, ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.

Cowan suffered minor injuries.

In addition to DWI, Cowan was charged with no valid operator's license, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, and for not having insurance.

Stella man killed in one-vehicle accident

A Stella man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 5 a.m. today on Route HH at Route O, four miles south of Stark City.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2011 Chevrolet pickup driven by Larry J. Brady, 65, Stella, failed to stop at a T intersection and struck an embankment.

Brady was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Coroner Brian Artherton.

The fatality was the 104th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
