Connect2Culture (C2C) will present two performances this October, including a puppet show based on a beloved children’s book and a moving dance performance about cancer experiences.

All performances in the 2026-2027 season will be held at C2C’s home theater, the Beshore Performance Hall, or its outdoor amphitheater, the Leggett & Platt Green, at the Cornell Complex.

StoneLion Puppet Theatre presents Stellaluna, a charming puppet adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Janell Cannon. When a young fruit bat becomes separated from her mother and is adopted by a family of birds, she discovers valuable lessons about friendship, family, and acceptance.
Known for its imaginative storytelling and beautifully crafted puppets, StoneLion Puppet Theatre has delighted audiences nationally and internationally since 1992. Filled with humor, heart, and visual wonder, Stellaluna is a joyful theatrical experience for children and families alike.
There will be open floor seating around the set, with chairs available in the back. Kids are encouraged to bring blankets and pillows to get cozy and sit close to the set for an intimate, immersive experience with the puppets. Seating is general admission.

Owen/Cox Dance Group presents Collective: Our Stories of Cancer, a moving contemporary dance performance inspired by the experiences of survivors, caregivers, medical professionals, and loved ones affected by cancer.
Through expressive choreography, original music, and powerful storytelling, the production explores themes of resilience, hope, grief, and human connection.
Founded in 2007, Owen/Cox Dance Group is known for creating thought-provoking collaborations that blend dance, live music, and community engagement. Based in Kansas City, the company has earned acclaim for emotionally resonant performances that make contemporary dance accessible, meaningful, and deeply personal.

Join dancers from Owen/Cox Dance Group, a contemporary dance company based in Kansas City, for an engaging workshop designed for dancers ages 12–18 with intermediate to advanced dance training. The 90-minute workshop will include a 45-minute modern warm-up, followed by 45 minutes of contemporary choreography and movement exploration. Advance registration and payment required.
