Tracy A. Davis, 56, Pierce City, felony driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, no valid plates, failed to signal, no seat belt

Paving to continue on Connecticut Avenue south of 32nd Street

Starting Thursday, November 7, crews will be placing the remaining asphalt base course pavement in the western lanes of Connecticut Avenue south of 32nd Street.

Following the placement of the base course, work on the surface course of asphalt for the entirety of the project will begin. The surfacing work is expected to take place on Friday, and Monday through Wednesday of next week, weather permitting. If delays occur due to weather or other circumstances, work will continue until finished.

During the duration of the work, the side streets will be intermittently closed as they are placing the asphalt approaches on the side streets. As the surfacing work will be done on the entirety of the project, lane shifts will occur during that work. Two-way traffic will be maintained; however, flaggers may temporarily stop traffic while work is occurring in some locations. Please expect delays if traveling this route and drivers are encouraged to seek other routes during this time.

Missouri Southern Police Department holding gift drive for Lafayette House

Missouri Southern Police Department is hosting Compassion in Action, a gift drive for Lafayette House, from now until Dec. 9.

Lafayette House is a non-profit organization offering support for those experiencing domestic violence and addiction, aiming to provide a haven for men, women, and children.

 
This gift drive is for everyone, but the following items are in demand: clothing for all ages and sizes; hair and skin care items; toiletries and hygiene products; and entertainment such as books, journals, crafts and board games, especially for teenagers.

 
Dropoff locations are MSSU’s bookstore in Billingsly Student Center, Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium, and Hearnes Hall’s lobby. The 24/7 location is the University Police station. Please leave all gifts unwrapped.

Route D at MO 96 in Oronogo to be closed

TRAFFIC ALERT: Jasper Co. Route D CLOSED at Route 96 for Pipe Replacement Nov. 13

Where: Jasper County Route D, just north of Missouri Route 96 in Oronogo

When: 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, November 13

What: MoDOT crews replacing collapsed pipe underneath the road

Traffic Impacts

Both lanes of Route D CLOSED where crews are working

Drivers will be able to access driveways and entrances on either side of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through the work zone

Drivers urged to find alternate routes

No signed detours planned

Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone

Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
