(From Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau)

Visit Joplin is proud to host the P66 Rallye Route 66 100th overnight on October 13 and coffee hour on October 14.

P66 Rallye is an official, non-competitive heritage automotive and cultural rally scheduled to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The Rallye is a curated, art-forward, Porsche-themed event traveling Route 66 from Chicago, IL, to Santa Monica, CA, in 13 days.

The event is officially recognized and sanctioned as a commemorative event by the Route 66 Centennial Commission and the Road Ahead Partnership, and presented in partnership with Michelin Performance Tires. A film crew will be traveling with the Rallye to document the adventure.

“It’s been really fun to see all these specialty automobiles traveling the Route this summer,” says Kerstin Landwer, Visit Joplin Director of Sales. “We are excited that these folks get to experience the hospitality and activities of our Route 66 tri-state corridor.”

The public is invited to view these vintage automobiles in the City of Joplin parking lot between 5th and 6th Streets on Joplin Avenue from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, and again from 8:00 – 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14.
