Construction begins on Neosho High School multipurpose turf track and field

(From the Neosho R-5 School District)

You may notice some action happening at the stadium as you pass by the boulevard this summer - construction has officially started to install the multipurpose turf track and field!

The project is slated to be done in August and will include a synthetic turf field surface, padding to enhance safety and reduce risk of concussion, and a resurfaced track.

The track resurfacing is funded by insurance proceeds from water damage and the field is funded by community sponsorships.

We are so excited to be kicking this project off as it will allow unlimited use for our athletics and activities groups, along with community groups, and it will greatly reduce the maintenance expense of caring for the traditional grass.

Thank you so much to the sponsors who made this possible for Wildcat Nation!
Freeman Health System, Arvest Bank, Branco Enterprises, First Community Bank, Griffith Motor Company, K&S wire, McDonald's O'Dell Trucking, Weston Enterprises, Jerry & Jan Griffith, Preston Lacy, Bubba Schwartz Memorial, US Bank, Southwest Missouri Bank, Randy Swift, Bill & Linda Spiva, Debbie & Marvin Major, Phil & Tana Wise, Jim & Renee Cummins, and Sonny & Shirly Cummins.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available if you would like to be a part of this awesome project! Contact Jim Cummins at cumminsjim@neoshosd.org, Jenny Spiva at jspiva@griffithmotor.com, or Stuart Puckett at stuart.puckett@firstcommunity.net or 417.389.4713 for more information.

Please note that the property will be closed during construction but we look forward to opening it up for the community to enjoy as soon as possible!
