“KGCS provides great hands-on opportunities,” said Judy Stiles, KGCS general manager. “We like to recognize those students who go above and beyond in not only gaining experience, but also helping the station.”

The awards for this year:

Volunteer of the Year - Janna Hautala

Program of the Year - “Southern Nights”

Student of the Year - Zach Dobbs

In addition, certificates of appreciation for contributions were awarded to Luke Sachetta, Dillon Noblett, Ryenn Story, Raeann Garrison-Law, Lauren Brown, Alyssa Brown, Ashlea Zumwalt, Shea Schrader, TIchina Coleman and Hank Boulanger.

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
