According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Ford Fiesta driven by Alyssa M. Bird, 17, Pineville, struck the rear of a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Daniel B. Elliott, 40, Grove, Oklahoma.
Byrd was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Elliott sought his own treatment for minor injuries.
Three passengers in the Elliott vehicle, Mariah D. Duenas, 28, a 13-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries at Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, Arkansas.
