Joplin man sought on weapons, property damage charges after shots fired at 5th and Joplin

On 02-15-2025 around 2:11 am, the Joplin Police Department began receiving reports of shots fired in the area of 5th and Joplin. 

When officers arrived in the area, they noticed numerous shell casings in west alley of 5th and Joplin. At that time, there were no suspects or victims on the scene. 

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that at least two vehicles and two buildings had been damaged because of gunfire. 







As a result of this investigation, an arrest warrant has been issued for Andrew M. Reed, 22 of Joplin. The warrant was issued by the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for the charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Property Damage 1st Degree. 

At this time, the Joplin Police Department has no knowledge that any citizens were injured during this incident. We are requesting help from public with locating Reed. Please contact the Joplin Police Department or your local law enforcement agency if Reed’s whereabouts become known.
