(From KGCS)Each year, hundreds of students enjoy food and socializing at the Mayes Dining Hall and Student Life Center but that also means wear and tear on furnishings and aging spaces. Renovations are approved and coming soon to the Mayes Student Life Center. Those and other campus improvements are the focus of the next Newsmakers program.
MSSU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Lisa Toms and student senate representative Gerardo Martinez discuss how input from students helped shape plans for a coffee bar, gaming area, study rooms and improved lighting and furnishings. Andrea Cullers and Martinez share improvements to the campus tennis courts and its funding. MSSU President Dr. Dean Van Galen and Associate Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment Dr. Shellie Hewitt give an update on construction of the new Roy Blunt Health Sciences Innovation Center. Director of Athletics Rob Mallory updates expedited work on the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center renovation project. Plus, a video story on the reshaping of a classroom into a public relations lab.
