Jasper County deputies arrest suspect hiding in clothes dryer

Man with warrants found hiding in the clothes dryer.

Sometimes you come across a situation that you just have to share.

On Wednesday afternoon deputies went to an address in Reeds Mo looking for Randall Tucker, had two active warrants.

The home owner said the person they were looking for was not in the house, and gave the Deputies permission to search to verify.

After a search of the house Mr. Randall Tucker, 46 years old, was found hiding in the clothes dryer.

Mr. Tucker was taken into custody without incident.

MSSU weekly activities update

The Golden Crest Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa is set to begin their 10th annual One Warm Coat Drive on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Clean, reusable coats, jackets and other warm clothing will be collected. All sizes are welcome. Donations will be distributed to those in need by the Joplin Boys and Girls Club and Watered Gardens.

Coats can be delivered to the blue boxes in a number of campus buildings. Donation boxes will also be offered in Southwest Missouri Bank locations at 4000 E. Seventh St. and 2530 N. Range Line Road, and at Victory Ministry & Sports Complex, 3405 Hammons Blvd.

The National Leadership Honor Society chapter will continue the coat drive through Nov. 30.

Other campus activities planned for the week of Oct. 30 include the annual Safe Halloween event for the community, a K-POP dance workshop and the annual Run with the Heroes 5K.

Monday, Oct. 30

“Hotel Transylvania”: 5:30 p.m. in Phelps Theatre. Free and open to the campus community.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

Halloween Photo Booth: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Billingsly Student Center. Students can celebrate Halloween with a creepy keepsake picture.

“Train to Busan”: 2:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre in BSC. The Korean Film Festival presents this tale of a zombie outbreak. Free.

Safe Halloween: 6 to 8 p.m., Connor Ballroom in BSC. The community is invited to attend the event, which will include games, crafts and trick-or-treating. Free and open to the public.

“The Host”: 7 p.m. Cornell Auditorium in Plaster Hall. The creature feature is part of the Korean Film Festival. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 1

Geography Club Trivia Night: 7 to 8:30 p.m., Lion’s Den in BSC. The Geography Club will host the first annual event which is open to all MSSU students.

“Summoning Spirits”: 7 p.m., Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium. Magician Peter Boie will bring old legends and haunted stories to life. Free for the campus community.

Thursday, Nov. 2

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’: 2:30, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. in Phelps Theatre. Free for the campus community.

K-POP Dance Workshop: 6 to 9 p.m., Dianne Mayes Student Life Center. Come and learn the basics of K-POP dancing and get a rare insight into Korean pop culture. Free and open to the public.

Faculty Recital: 7:30 p.m., Corley Auditorium. Dr. Cheryl Cotter, chair of woodwind studies, will present a clarinet recital. Free and open to the public.
