Donate blood for chance for Kansas City Chiefs tickets

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at more than 40 hospitals, is calling on donors to step up to the line and make a lifesaving blood donation during the Down Set Donate blood drive on Friday, September 4. With the Labor Day holiday weekend approaching, CBCO is urging the community to help strengthen the local blood supply before the busy holiday weekend.

Donors who give blood at a Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donor center on Friday, Sept. 4, will receive: 

Entry for a chance to win two tickets and a parking pass to the Kansas City Chiefs’ October 18 game against the Los Angles Chargers

Vintage Chiefs blood drive T-Shirt 

Otter themed T-Shirt

Voucher for two free general admission tickets to Dickerson Park Zoo

Donation hours for the Down. Set. Donate! Blood Drive are:

Joplin Donor Center: 2318 E. 32nd Street 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Springfield Donor Center: 220 W. Planview Road 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Bentonville Donor Center: 1400 SE Walton Boulevard 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Springdale Donor Center: 3503 S. Thompson Street 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM


All donor centers will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Donate!' blood drive is a fun way to rally our community around a cause that truly matters," said Michelle Teter, Media Relations Representative for Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. "Blood donations have declined both locally and nationwide this summer, making every donation especially important. As we head into the Labor Day holiday weekend, we encourage everyone who is eligible to give blood and help ensure local patients have the lifesaving blood they need."

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment www.cbco.org/down-set-donate/ or call 417-227-5006.

Photo identification is required. Donors are encouraged to eat well and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
