Dickerson Park Zoo's Eagles of North America to be at MSSU Monday

The Dickerson Park Zoo will bring its Eagles of North America presentation to MSSU at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The event will take place in Corley Auditorium in Webster Hall on the MSSU campus.
The performance will last approximately one hour and will follow the Veteran’s Week Ceremony on the Oval, which begins at noon. It is free and open to the public.
This program will feature the bald eagle and the golden eagle. Find out what factors have contributed to the demise of the bald eagle population and what conservation efforts worked to remove the bald eagle from the endangered species list.
The event is sponsored by the Missouri Southern Campus Activities Board (CAB). The Campus Activities Board is comprised of volunteer students who work throughout the school year with the Student Activities Office. CAB not only makes recommendations for what events to host on campus, but also helps to facilitate and advertise those events.
In addition to the Eagles of North America presentation, CAB will also be teaming up with the Show-Me-Gold Program to sponsor two showings of the film We Were Soldiers. The film dramatizes the Battle of Ia Drang during the Vietnam War in 1965.
One showing will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and the other at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 in Phelps Theatre on the bottom floor of the Biemdiek Recreation Center. .
