The Joplin Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 2229 S Adele. Time of call was 1007 hours on Wednesday morning, 13 November. Fire crews arrived on the scene at 1011 hours to find light smoke coming from the attic. The occupant and his son had exited the house by the time the first truck arrived. The fire was extinguished and the smoke was ejected from the house using a fan. The fire was declared under control at 1030 hours.
5 Joplin Fire units and 17 Joplin Fire personnel responded, along with the JPD. The house is owned and occupied by Keith Mitchell. No one was injured on the scene. The American Red Cross was contacted to aid the family.
The cause is currently under investigation by the Joplin Fire Marshal.
