Taney County files felony charges against man accused of shooting at Jasper County deputy

The Taney County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed a felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle Monday against Dennis Caleb Goode, 31, Carl Junction, who is currently housed in the Jasper County Jail.
Goode was captured in Branson after fleeing Jasper County, where he alleged fired shots at a Jasper County deputy. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 surety bond, plus $10,000 cash.
In Jasper County, Goode is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, and shooting from a motor vehicle.
Goode also faces burglary and resisting arrest charges in Newton County.
From a Jasper County Sheriff’s Department news release:
During the investigation, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office believes they have located the weapon used in the crime along with other evidence linking Goode to the shots being fired at a Jasper County Deputy.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Department had earlier indicated it was looking into the possibility that Goode, who has a lengthy criminal history, may have been involved in the home invasion murder of Jeffrey Slama, 58, Joplin.
