Michael S. Townsend, 49, Jasper, received moderate injuries in a one-car accident at 11:20 this morning three miles north of Carthage on I-49.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Townsend, driving a 2006 Kia Sorrento, ran off the right side of the road and struck a guard rail. He was taken by ambulance to Freeman West in Joplin.
