Newsmakers program focus on ongoing operations at Missouri Southern

Two new episodes of “Newsmakers” highlight a number of continuing services at Missouri Southern State University during the COVID-19 pandemic, and are set to hit the local airwaves in the coming weeks.

One episode focuses on Admissions, as well as a number of programs available to current and incoming students. Judy Stiles, host and KGCS general manager, welcomes Michael Sanders, dean of admissions, Heather Lesmeister, director of university relations and marketing and Teresa Thompson, director of the first year experience.

The second episode takes a look at student and residence life at MSSU, and features Josh Doak, director of residence life and Craig Gullet, assistant director of student life. Both share information about housing and how student engagement has continued through social media and virtual student activities. KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
