(From the City of Joplin)Residents have an opportunity to take part in an important natural disaster preparation and response survey, and the City of Joplin is encouraging participation.
The City is currently working with the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments and local jurisdictions to update the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, a plan required by federal law to be reviewed annually and updated every five years. This plan helps guide how our community prepares for and responds to natural disasters.
Disasters can occur at any time and often with little warning. While we can’t prevent these events, we can work together to reduce their impact on our homes, schools, places of worship, and the community. Citizen input plays a valuable role in shaping these efforts.
Residents are invited to participate in a brief, 10-question survey to share thoughts and help inform future planning. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes, and responses are anonymous unless the participants choose to provide their information.
Responses are due by June 28, 2026. To take the survey, go to https://forms.cloud.microsoft/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=5DDYyk9VYUO65chlIz-3f1PVASiUOd5DhMd4Xg-oGKFUQVVQSjc3R1oxVzNCMjZYMVFCNkhGQ01NUiQlQCN0PWcu&route=shorturl
