Joey Ballard has been named the next Head Baseball Coach, and Corey Clingan has been named the next Head Boys Golf Coach.
Coach Ballard brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a passion for developing student-athletes to our baseball program. A standout multi-sport athlete from Muskogee, Oklahoma, he played both football and baseball at Missouri Southern, earning induction into the Missouri Southern Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Elite 11 in 2022.
His coaching career has included stops at Jasper High School and Joplin Schools before joining Carl Junction three years ago. During his time as a Bulldog, Coach Ballard has served in multiple educational roles while coaching football and helping lead our baseball program as Head Freshman Coach and Varsity/JV Assistant. This fall, he will begin teaching at Carl Junction Junior High while taking the reins of the Bulldog Baseball program.
Coach Clingan is a proud Carl Junction graduate who starred on the golf course as a Bulldog before continuing his playing career at Missouri Southern State University.
His coaching career began as the Head Boys Golf Coach at Sarcoxie High School before returning to Carl Junction. Entering his 17th year in education and his 15th year at Carl Junction Schools, Coach Clingan has served as Head Girls Golf Coach since 2012 and will now also lead the Boys Golf program. He has guided the Lady Bulldogs to more than 35 tournament championships, 24 state qualifiers, four All-State selections, and multiple conference, district, and sectional championships.
