(From the City of Joplin)While road crews work to make improvements along Seventh Street this summer, drivers using the intersection at Seventh and Main Streets should be aware of upcoming traffic detours.
The Seventh Street project includes utility line relocations, and Spire, Inc. will be working to lower a gas line that runs along Main Street just south of Seventh Street. Beginning Monday, June 15, the Northbound lanes of Main Street will be closed between Seventh and Eighth Streets. Truck traffic will be detoured at 15th Street to Illinois Avenue, and all other traffic will be detoured at Eighth Street to Wall Avenue.
This work and the necessary detours are estimated to take place over three days. The closure and detours will be in place while the crews are working during the daytime, and Main Street will reopen to traffic in the evenings and overnight.
