Galena residents arrested on meth, weapons charges

Saturday September 17, 2022, at approximately 4:30pm, Officers with the Galena Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a possible shooting in the Foxfire addition of Galena.

During the initial investigation, Officers found that a resident of a duplex apartment discharged a firearm in her apartment. The bullet traveled through the adjoining apartment’s wall and struck that resident in the forehead. The resident was taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released with minor injuries.







 
As officer continued their investigation, Officers located suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in the apartment where the weapon was discharged. A Search Warrant was requested for the apartment. Once officers received the Search Warrant, Officer continued their investigation. During this search officer located additional weapons, suspected drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
 
Morgan Farren and Thomas Farren were taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Cherokee County Jail. Charges are being submitted on Morgan Farren, DOB 10/27/1981 for Aggravated Battery, criminal Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Use of Weapons, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession with intent to Distribute and Possession of drug Paraphernalia. Her bond is set at $10,000.00.

Charges are being submitted on Thomas Farren DOB: 09/30/1981 for Criminal use of a Weapon, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession with intent to distribute and Possession of Paraphernalia. His bond is set at $10,000.00.
