(From the Galena Police Department)On September 16, 2022, at approximately 00:45am, Officers with the Galena Police Department were notified of a person in the parking lot of the Village Estates Apartments trying to break into vehicles.
When officers arrived, they spoke with individuals which lived in the Apartments. They verified that a male subject was trying to get into multiple vehicles and was able to enter one. They went on to say that as the officers arrived the male ran into a wooded area.
After an extensive search of the area officers located a male subject. It was verified that the person found was the same person trying to enter the vehicles in the parking lot.
Officers identified this person as Johnny Joe-Lyn Jackson DOB: 06/15/1974. Mr. Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail. Bond is set at $5,500.00.
Charges are being submitted for Disorderly Conduct, Interference with Law Enforcement, Obstruction / Resisting and Burglary of a Vehicle.
