Pittsburg man arrested after 14-year-old runaway girl found in trunk of car he took from his mother

On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department took a report of a misappropriated vehicle from a Yvonne Timko, regarding her son, 18-year-old Rylie M. Timko, of Pittsburg, taking her vehicle without permission. The vehicle was reportedly taken from Mrs. Timko’s residence on E. Carlton St., in Pittsburg.

On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, the Pittsburg Police Department received information from the Fort Scott, Kansas, Police Department, regarding a 14-year-old female runaway, who was likely in the company of Rylie Timko, possibly being in the area. The 14-year-old runaway and Rylie Timko were reportedly involved in a dating relationship with each other.








On Saturday morning, December 31, 2022, at approximately 9:30 AM, law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department were checking a vehicle, which matched the description of Mrs. Timko’s missing vehicle, in the 400 block of E. 27th St. 

While checking this vehicle, which was determined to be Mrs. Timko’s missing vehicle, officers located the 14-year-old runaway hiding in the trunk of the vehicle. The runaway was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the police station for processing with juvenile intake. Mrs. Timko’s vehicle was returned to her.








On Monday morning, January 2, 2023, at approximately 11:05 AM, Rylie Timko was located at his mother’s residence on E. Carlton St. and was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Timko was arrested for felony Contributing to a Child’s Misconduct or Deprivation, and was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. He is currently being held without bond.
