(From Galena USD 499)Galena schools began the morning under lockdown this morning as a precautionary measure following notification from the Galena Police Department that a suspicious individual, fleeing on foot was close to school campuses.
We appreciate the immediate response of the Galena Police Department, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and our staff members who stepped up to ensure our students could safely enter campus. The situation has been resolved with the individual taken into police custody.
