Highway Patrol announces promotion of Missouri Southern graduate

Captain Dusty L. Hoffman, director of the Governor’s Security Division, Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion effective January 1, 2023.

Trooper W. Robert Plumley, Governor’s Security Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, was promoted to corporal and remains in his present assignment.

Plumley was appointed to the Missouri State Water Patrol as a member of its 33rd Recruit Class in 2005. He became a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol when the two agencies merged January 2011. 








In 2011, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 16, as a marine operations trooper. In January 2014, he transferred to Troop F, Zone 5, Miller and Camden counties. In September 2020, Plumley transferred to the Governor’s Security Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City.

Corporal Plumley grew up in Springfield, MO, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, in 1999. He attended Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin, MO, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration in 2003. Corporal Plumley is married to Rebecca, and they have three children, Caitlyn, Jackson, and Ava.

  1. Congratulations, BUT I don't think he graduated in the 33rd recruit class. I graduated in the 33rd recruit class in 1967, and retired in 1996, and I don't remember him in our class LOL Don Richardson

    1. It says member of the 33rd Water Patrol recruit class. He came over with the merger. He’s an outstanding officer!
