(From the Carthage R-9 School District)Carthage High School 10th grader, Katherine Wagner was invited to attend The State Historical Society of Missouri: Day at the Capitol where Kate received two resolutions for her work- one from The House of Representatives and one from The Senate which commended her for her work on her 1st place winning 2022 State History Day project titled “Vietnam War Protest: Acts of Informal Debate.”
Kate and Mrs. Fultz met with numerous state representatives and senators as well as attendees and guests of this capitol event to share her historical work and discuss her experiences competing at regional and state history day competitions.
Highlights from the day included being recognized during and sitting in on both the house and senate sessions, touring the capitol building, and speaking with education advocate Senator Jill Carter who personally presented Kate with The Senate Resolution.
