02/02/2023 Officer received call from party who reported he had paid a contractor for work that was never done. Investigation continues.

02/14/2023 Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 12th in reference to a person causing a disturbance in the store. Suspect was arrested for drinking in public; transported to the Barton County Jail for processing, then placed on a 24 hr hold for Investigation for Possession of Controlled Substance. A probable cause was sent to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney for pending charges.

02/15/2023 Officer responded to the 500 block of East 10th for an assault that just occurred. One party was arrested, transported to the Barton County Jail and placed on a 24 hr hold for Domestic Assault 4th Degree.

02/18/2023 Officer was dispatched to a burning complaint in the 1400 block of Truman. While speaking to the suspect, officer learned the suspect is a registered sex offender and had not changed addresses as required. Suspect was transported to the Barton County Jail and charged with Fail to Register as a Sex Offender and Possession of Controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana.








02/19/2023 Officers responded to the 1600 block of Heagon St. for suspicious activity/person. Suspect was arrested for resisting arrest by fleeing and transported to the Barton County Jail.

02/20/2023 Officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of 12th & Mill. The driver was arrested for narcotics-amphetamine-possession. A passenger in the car was found to have a warrant out of Jasper County. Passenger was placed under arrest and transported to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition to Jasper County.
