(From KGCS)

Holiday shopping has begun for some and will soon be in full swing after Black Friday sales. With the surge in shopping for Christmas gifts and holiday travel, also comes a surge in scams that attempt to steal your money and identity and that is the focus of the next Newsmakers program.

Southwest Missouri Regional director for the Better Business Bureau, Pamela Hernandez gives advice on how to shop safely in stores and online. She warns of misleading social media ads, fake charities, fake shipping notifications, fake tolls and more scams on the BBB Naughty List. She also has warnings about buying gift cards and the importance of knowing return policies on gift items.

Hernandez also shares some dangers of travel scams during holidays and has tips on how to check out travel offers and places to stay. She warns about fake toll collection alerts.
