Flood warning extended to Tuesday for Joplin area
Cherokee man arrested for burglary, theft following search warrant execution
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, along with the Crawford County Sheriff's Office and City of Cherokee Police Department, executed a search warrant late Sunday evening, April 30, 2017.
The search warrant was issued for a home at 512 East Pine Street in Cherokee, as part of an investigation into a burglary, which occurred in Weir back in October, 2016.
During the course of the search, investigators recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including military uniforms and vehicle parts.
Arrested at the scene, and transferred to the custody of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was 26 year-old Jason Mordica, of the home.
Mordica is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $6,500.00 bond on allegations of Burglary and Theft.

Approximately $70.1 million, including defeasance costs, in loans secured by the property were retired concurrent with the close. CBL’s share of net equity proceeds, after retirement of secured loans and closing costs, was $38.0 million. Net proceeds were used to reduce outstanding balances on the Company’s lines of credit.

Noel teen injured slamming into tree
A Noel teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident 7:40 p.m. Sunday on Hilltop Road, 2.5 miles west of Noel.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Lounae L. Cosper, 18, Noel, traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Cosper was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Four people, including Neosho man, injured in accident on I-44 near Joplin
Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 1:14 a.m. today on Eastbound I-44, one mile east of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Shawn W. Polzin, 32, Lawton, Oklahoma, struck the rear of a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Michelle M. Lewis, 50, Neosho.
Polzin, a passenger in the Polzin vehicle, Oliver J. Polzin, 10, Lawton, and a passenger in the Lewis vehicle, Clifford E. Reynolds, 61, Neosho, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Another passenger in the Polzin vehicle, Maggie Polzin, 35, Lawton, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy.
