Joplin man cited for DWI after crashing into fence
A Joplin man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 8:10 p.m. Monday on MO 43 at Elm Drive, four miles south of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Michael J. Fairhurst, 62, Joplin, ran a stop sign, ran off the roadway and struck a fence.
Fairhurst was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Joplin city offices closed Thursday, Friday, trash pickup schedule changed
(From the City of Joplin)In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center, MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services.
The Recycling Center will reopen on Saturday, November 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. City Hall and other City services will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 30. MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services will resume services starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, November 30.
Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments) will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year. Joplin Regional Airport operations will also be running on Thursday and Friday.
Joplin citizens are reminded that residential trash and curbside recycling will NOT be picked up on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26. Customers who usually have trash/recycling picked up on Thursdays will have their trash/recycling picked up on Friday, November 27. Friday customers will have their trash/recycling picked up on Saturday, November 28.
Noel man charged with murder in connection with Sunday morning shooting
A Noel man is being held without bond on second degree murder and armed criminal action charges in connection with the Sunday shooting death of Jonathan Arellanos, 23, Noel.
Benton County, Arkansas authorities arrested Shun'Tavion L. Thomas, 23, Noel, after a McDonald County Sheriff's Office and the Noel City Marshal's office investigation identified him as the suspect and an alert was issued.
The shooting took place at 10:05 a.m. in the Noel Heights Apartments.
Granby Police traffic stop leads to arrest of Monett man, seizure of 92 grams of crystal meth

On the evening of November 21st, Granby officers conducted a traffic stop which subsequently led to the seizure of 92 grams of pure crystal methamphetamine and over $1,600 in cash.
Richard Fouts, 61, Monett, MO has been arrested and charged with 1st degree Trafficking.
